DIY road repairs in Harvest Bank Road 2010
The residents of the unmade part of Harvest Bank Road got together on the 24th April to repair some of the worst damage caused by the severe winter (and drivers who go too fast). Jon Wilmshurst, who collected the money for this, has given the details below so that the contributors and workers can see how the money was spent. Scroll down to see some photos of the day...
Receipts: 37 x £20 = £740
£20 received from house numbers:
32A, 36, 42, 43, 44, 46, 47, 48, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 65, 67, 73, 75, 77, 79, 83, 85, 87, 89, 91, 93, 95, 101, 103, 105.
Please let Jon know if he has missed out anyone.
Expenditure:
20 tons MOT number 1 roadstone (Pratts) £446.50
Vibrating roller hire (Orpington Plant Hire) £58.75
23 bags cement (Focus) £95.02
2 "Slow down" signs (BHSC) £65.00
Petrol £5.00
Total £670.27
Gladys Edmonds, Secretary to the Residents Association, has kindly agreed to check the bills. The new road signs have been delivered and will be installed shortly. Jon will retain the small surplus (£70) for the time being to spend on small repairs or to go into the kitty the next time a major effort is needed. With any luck the road will be reasonable for the next year or two but there may be a need for small repairs during that period.
The thanks of all who use the road go to the energetic road gang.... click the pics to see a bigger version.
